2001 Volkswagen Beetle with engine codes P0740 and P0730

Question

doesn't shift past third...... reads p0740__p0730 ......runs great on drive 2 but slips on regular drive

P0740 Torque convertor clutch circuit  /  open

P0730 Incorrect gear ratio

The only fix for  a P0740, having this circuit a open condition . which  is part of the transmission valve body, This includes the RPM sensor that are part of the VW  transmission valve body.
