Have a P0609 Powertrain Ctrl Mod VSS output B error..What is the definition of VSS

Need definition of VSS.. is this a sensor that can be changed or is it internal to the computer causing complete replacement?

The VSS is the vehicle speed sensor. This is likely the speedometer since most vehicles use the abs wheel speed sensors to operate the speedometer these days. It's possible the truck could have an issue with the abs computer if the abs light is also on and not sending signal to the speedometer any more.
