Engine starts fine but idles really ruff and wants to die but does not got a code of 1383 it is four cylinder I haven't done any work as of yet
Will the crankshaft sensor cause this idle problem

P1383 Variable valve timing (Over retarded Bank 1)

This would surely cause a rough idle, this is not caused by the crank shaft position sensor. But more a mechanical condition , timing belt being out of alignment would cause this , a stuck VCT, (variable cam timing) . This code is mostly set due to poor oil maintance
