What is the difference between the p0404 valve and the p0406 valve?

Hi there,

There is no difference, both codes are for the EGR position sensor. The sensor tells the computer if the egr is working when it should be. If the proper position is not sensed at the correct time then the codes will be set. Before replacing the sensor make sure the egr is in fact working and that the large tube to the egr is not plugged up with carbon.
