is this something I can fix myself, and where can I get the part?

Vehicle: 2007 chevrolet impala 6c 3500

It is a problem inside the transmisson the torque converter clutch solenoid. This solenoid controls the hydraulic pressure to both apply and disengage the torque converter. Take it to a transmission shop
