I had the crankshaft position sensor replaced. I asked for the old part back. The part removed looks brand new. Would the old one show any signs of wear and tear? Such as dust, dirt, burns, buildup, cracks, on it? Or is it covered so nothing gets at it? The problem and code still comes back. I'm wondering if it was even replaced at the shop?

P0335 Crankshaft position sensor circuit A

This has to be the most popular code that is set with the SL 500. The problem with this code is it tends to be the ECM.You can replace CKP after CKP. If it replaced with a good known working one, you can be sure you are facing a ECM problem
