P0068 KIA - I got this code when I failed emmisions.

Question

Each year my catalytic conveter dies and I have to get it replaced and my check engine light stays on. Sometimes my car will just trun off while Im driving it. I dont know if these issues are related or not it just drives me crazy. The dealership want to charge a lot to disgnose the problem. What should I do?

This code is for a difference between the mass air flow sensor and the throttle position sensor. A scan tool is required to check the corelation between the 2. It is not a converter code and has nothing to do with the catalytic converters.

The TPS and the MAF can be tested seperatly, however a dealer is not required to check these with the scan tool.

you need a scanner to monitor the sensors,,,but i have seen 3 rios with this code and everyone has had a plastic bag stuck at the entrance of the air intake resonator, driver side front of battery,,remove upper plastic cover above bumper and look into air resonator entrance,,
