po300 code random misfire

can spark plugs really trigger po300 code all of the sudden? 2008 saturn vue xr will mostly do misfire on steep hill or exceleration. Sometimes it seems to run ok. Any sugestions appreciated

Usually based on the conditions you are describing the issue is more likely a weak fuel pump or possibly a problem with the catalytic converter blocking the exhaust flow.
