this p1089 came up on a repair shop scanner

Question

This P1089 code came up on a VW authorized repair shop scanner.
I checked a lot of  info on the web and i come up with a lean condition, and another place says its a Tumble generator valve #1 right hand position sensor High.
  Im confused. also i need to know if the W8 has 1 air pump, or 2.
and need to pull motor to service or no?
