I have a persistent 2238 code that replacing the O2 sensor does not alleviate. I have reset the ecm, and cleared the codes multiple times. One thing I have noticed is that the motor accelerates in a choppy, uneven way once I erase the code, but then evens out and runs smoothly once the check engine light comes back on.

HI there

It's possible the issue is a poor running engine causing the code to appear. This could also be the result of a faulty ECM. Here is some more info on the code for you.
