2007 BMW X3 Limp Mode

I have a 2007 bmw X3 3.0SI. Engine went into limp mode after getting a gear symbol on dash. Ran code reader and it says P180E but didn't tell me what it meant. Used a innova 3100. Turned off car and restarted it and it went away.

P180E No manufactuer uses this code , If the vehicle went into a limp mode and there a gear symbol then went away after you turn the engine off, the only sensor that can do this is the MAF sensor
