P1610 CHEVROLET - what does this mean?

I found a 2000 Chevy Impala for sale on craigslist, but has engine codes of P1610 and P1626. What does this mean for the car that I am trying to purchase?

These codes are both for a loss of communication with the PCM, basically put, either there is a wiring issue and the PCM is not powering up, or the PCM must be replaced. If it is, it will have to go to the dealer to be reprogrammed.
