Had a smoke test was told it was a canister valve. Was told that it would be $460 for replacement plus cost of 1-1.5 hours labor, plus tax... I want to know if I can do it cheaper and how I would go about doing it. I have access to a garage with a lift and tools, but I have minimal car knowledge...

P2418 Evaporative emission system control valve circuit / open

Check for a proper working fuel cap, the fuel cap should not have any tear or sign of wear this would be the first area to diagnose, What set a P2418 is based on the vapor pressure sensor, if that vapor pressure sensor is non operational you would set a P2418, You can do just the vapor pressure sensor first and go from there.
