Hi there,
I am having an Error Code P0351 for the second time on my Toyota GT86.
First time it was under warranty claim and the ignition coil was replaced due to internal short circuited.
It lasted for 2 months and now the Check Engine Light turned ON again, I sent in Toyota Service Centre and they found the same Error Code: P0351 which means the same ignition coil.
I noticed my CEL normally turned ON when I high rev the car (6,000rpm till rev cut at 7,400rpm), but the CEL would turn OFF automatically by itself the next day. This scenario kept on repeating for 5 to 6 times before the 1st warranty claim.
Could this caused by the wire harness or the ECM/ ECU?
I really appreciate if you can give me some advise and comment.

Regards
Rodney

Hi there,

It is possible the new ignition coil is faulty, but it does sound like it's very possibly an issue with the ground for the coil or the wiring to it. Based on your description it sounds like the ground is bad and that is burning up the coil.
