P0172 Chevrolet -

Question

I'm having a hard time clearing a code. The code that I keep getting is po172. My vehicle is a 1996 Chevy caprice 4.3. I replaced the MASS airflow sensor cleaned the throttle body, and replaced the MAP sensor. The code says my engine is running too rich. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

P0172 Fuel trim rich Bank 1

Check the fuel pressure regulator for fuel that may have entered into the intake manifold by ways a rupture fuel pressure regulator. If you disconnect the vacuum regulator see if fuel seeps out. if it does replace the fuel pressure regulator. When there is a fuel trim rich condition you need to rule out mechanical condition, running rich code are mostly related to low compression
