P0172 Chevrolet - 2.2l cobalt lt coupe with cai & sai

Question

I installed a cat back exhaust & cold air intake on a 07 chevy cobalt lt coupe 2.2l w secondary air injection & installed a cone air filter onto the sai line. 2day ive pulled a p0172 cel ( bank 1 system to rich) twice. I reset the code did a little internet reading & it was recommended to dis connect the batt for 10 min & let it idle for 5 mins after hooking up the batt, & that was supsupposed to relearn the computer. 10 min after the cel came back on. Ive checked the whole injen cai & exhaust for leaks & found none
Looking for some input & advice on how to solve this issue. i also pulled the maf sensor the see if any dirt or oil from filter got on it & everything was on the norm.

Hi there,

A rich fuel mixture would not come from an intake leak or a leak on the cai. Rich mixture means there is to much fuel and not enough air.

This could be caused by the front O2 sensor reading wrong, especially if the cai requires a tune to recalibrate the PCM. A lot of them do require changing the paramiters on the computer with a mod for the computer.
