98 C1500 suburban vortex 5.7. Engine running fine, then discovered the ears for the distributor cap were broken, replaced with brand new dist with cap and rotor. Engine runs fine, but now engine light stays on and code P1345. Erased the code but it always come back in about 5 sec. Disconnected battery overnight to reset computer which it did but 5 seconds after start code is back. Had local tech try and fix it but he could not with a scanner. Stated he had it at "0" degrees. Before replacing dist, had no engine light on or any other problems. Any ideas?

P1345 Crankshaft position (CKP)- Camshaft position (CMP) correlation

How the hold down bolts for the distributor, check to see if that moves, P1345 either the distributor has moved , externally it can move, internally there is a distributor gear that can wear out and move out of position
