Hello,

I went to Napa and they checked for codes and gave me a P0452. I've checked the connections and the sensor, and all looks good, Napa also gave me a code for cylinder #6 is misfiring but it also read Ok on the code reader. I'm just curious if that cylinder misfiring could cause the P0452 code as well?

Thank you in advance for your help,
Brandon

Hi Brandon.

The #6 misfire will not cause this code. Basically this code is generated a couple of different ways. First, if there is a leak in the evap system. The pressure sensor voltage will not change if the pressure doesn't increase and decrease. This will trigger the computer to fault the pressure sensor.

The pressure sensor itself could be the issue. If it has a hole in it, then it's not going to change in pressure even if the pressure changes and this will give you the same code.

I would start with either a smoke test, or using a vacuum pump on the pressure sensor to make sure the voltage changes.
