what do I do to fix 1406 code on my Isuzu

i just replaced the egr valve on my isuzu and I ran over a tire in the road and the check engine light came on with the 1406 code coming up on the obdII. what is wrong and how do I fix it

Vehicle: 1996 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V-6 4wd
