when is your computer is bad?

I was driving and all of a sudden my dash lit up and my burban shuddered like it wanted to stall but didnt. It's done it a few times now and my neighbor said my computer is going bad. I'm poor and this is my families only transportation. Help!

How to tell if the computer is bad,  you use a digital volt meter at pin 4 or 5 this is the computer ground, you do a voltage drop from pin 4 or 5 to body ground, if the voltage drop exceed 0.5 volts you have a ECM issue. This is a test that usually help in the determining of a ECM issue. If you drive the vehicle and all of a sudden the dash light light up and there is a shudder check the battery connection or the charging system something at the connection is not making proper contact.

 The charging system is important part of the engine system. On this vehicle the engine would shudder and the ABS light would come on so would all the dash light come, there was no code strored.

 The charging system was check the charging voltage was 16 volts which is was too much for a 12 volts system. The fix replace the alternator
