Hi there,

First, make sure you replaced bank 1, I have seen so many times the wrong bank was replaced.Bank 1 is the bank closes to the firewall.

If you still have the same code this might be the issue. You likely have a code stored in the abs module for the traction control, and this may be why the transmission is stuck in 5th if it actually is. You need to put a scan tool on this that can read all the control modules and not just the engine module.

new question

today i checked temninal 3 from cam sensor to ground and got battery voltage, and from terminal 1 to groung and got continuity. yeah i did change the wrong sensor, but today i pulled the right one and checked with tester and had no open between 1&2 1&3 2&3 so i reinstalled sensor, do you sugest to replace as well?

only wire i not yet checked is termal 2 on sensor to terminal 13 & 14 on ecm fdor continuity

i believe if that checks out next is to pull valve covers and check can for damage or forign material, to remove valve cover for bank one need to remove intake which looks like wraps around valve covers any sugestions?

thank for your assistance sincerly mark

P0340 CMP sensor phase

When you get P0340 this is when the cam shaft sensor malfunctions , you have 2 cam shaft sensor it is very advisable that you replace the front and the rear camshaft sensor These sensor are hall effects sensor when they degrade over time  they can no longer produce the voltage signal that the ECM requires to see. . The camshaft sensor front and rear are not interchangeable.,

Here are camshaft sensor front and rear or Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensor.

Camshaft sensor here located in the back side of cylinder head

Camshaft sensor located here. When you set a P0340 more than anything this is a camshaft sensor failing, or the circuit,  connection very rarely will any P0340  be caused by the signal plate with debris. or foreign material.
