1996 Honda Accord Code P0118

Question

I have a 96 Honda accord v6. a mechanic changed the thermostat on it and right after check engine light came on and car would toggle and turns off. white smoke comes out from the back and I have to choke the accerator cord in the hhod and it turns on. my code is P0118 what can it be.

Bad connection, or poor connection from the harness, replace up to 1/4 to 1/2 of the wire connection for the coolant temperature sensor.these connection over time tends to become brittle
