P0118 Volkswagen -

Question

My 09 gti with the tsi engine temperature gauge only works sometimes were it goes to normal tem. Then all of a sudden it will drop and then go up again, check engine light came on and its reading PO118 code, im thinking its gonna be the temp sensor but im not shure. Does anyone have an idea of i should try first?

P0118 Engine coolant temperature sensor 1 circuit range / perfromance

The probelm is with the coolant temperature sensor, and the connection to the temperature sensor. VW has upgrade the temperature sensor and the connection for this condition
