What's wrong with this engine?

Question

short block replaced at 35k mi. Now 63k. makes a rackety sound @ startup & when power applied, up to 24mph, esp loud when going up minor grade (my driveway), & in drive & reverse. Is there a scenario in which this is NOT an engine problem? No light/code

It possible it the flexplate connection, Othere than that this may just be a problem with the engine.such as the connecting rod or piston wrist pin
