I would like to know if there is (or could be) a correlation between the 'electrical conductivity circuit board/plate that is leaking (inside transmission housing) and the P0705 error message detected by the OBDII diagnostics? Our MB C240 had a transmission issue (could not change gears) but then recovered once the engine/key was turned off for a few seconds. The faulty condition went away after the engine was restarted but the P0705 fault message was displayed via the tester.

P0705 Selector lever moduel incorrectly coded

Even if the connector had transmission fluid leaking , this is a problem but rarely does it interfere with the range sensor. Without the sensor properly working the transmission will have a improper coding , If the problem went away after turning off the vehicle, and turning it on, you replace the position sensor.
