Hi All,

My car is a 2002 Audi A3 1.8 TFSI

About a year ago, the oil light kept coming on after 1 minute of starting the engine, even if the oil level was fine.  I had work done that checked the filter and replaced the pick up tube, but it didn't solve it.  There were no obvious problems with the car and it has run fine since, just with the oil light flashing after start-up.

Now the oil level keep dropping, but only if the car is used.  It normally gets through about 1 litre every 500 miles before the oil light comes back on.  There are no obvious leaks that I can see.

The EML came on with codes P0011 & P0172.

When you start the car it struggles a little, and rather than idling around 700rpm it seems to bounce around betweem 700-900 rpm. Sometimes it lacks a little bit of power when accelerating, then after a second delay the engine seems to be back to normal.

Any ideas what this could be caused by?

Thanks  James
