ok i changed the mass air flow sensor then cleared the code and when I start the vehicle it comes back why?????

This code could be coming back because of a lack of power to the maf sensor when you turn the key on.

Check fuse #15 in the fuse box under the hood. If it's blown then the maf won't get any power. If the code reappears just with the key on then it's usually a power issue. If the fuse appears to be good, then you will need to get a volt meter and check the wiring out at the connector.
