P205C - BMW X5 3.5diesel, no emissions test in FL. Can I just disregard it?

Chek engine light went on, got the error code checked (P205C), added almost 4 gal of exhaust fluid (looks like the dealer forgot to add DEF during the last maintenance). The light went off the next day, than reappeared in a week. The DEF level is normal. What is the outcome if I just don't do anything about the sensor? The car has 50K miles, just off the warranty.

The worste that will happen the engine will not start. There are 3 recall for the BMW. That may just be related to the code condition you have Campaign # 11E-A03 .
