chev optra p0342

Question

I have a 2005 Chev optra wagon 5 sp. No issues with running and was driving and smelled something off and the car just died. Getting p0342 code. Battery is fine? Can positioning sensor possibly?

Hi there,

This code could be the result of a bad timing belt. The battery isn't a factor, but if the cam sensor has failed, then the car won't get any spark and so it won't run.
