P0756 Ford ranger 4x4 1996

Question

while accelerating foot on gas the RPM goes high but wont switch from 1st to second gear. When I let my foot off the gas then it switches gear. I already checked all my fluids they are right level oil change was recent. The P0756 code comes on but i cant figure out exactly what the problem is.

P0756 Shift solenoid number 2 function failure

P1443 Evaporative emission purge flow system

This would be the shift solenoid 2 or SS2, P0756 is more of a hydraulic function failure for the shift solenoid the shift solenoid is located in the valve body of the transmission

P1443 this can just be a possible purge hose for the evap system that tends to rot over time
