When P2479 is present this can put the engine in a derate mode with power loss, what happens is either a build up of soot.or a failed EGT sensor , Ford has also produced a TSB for various EGT sensor codes. TSB # 14-0174. If P2479 is a coninous code, its is recommended that the sensor be replaced.
