Last week I received a P0441 code. I changed my gas cap (OEM) because my old gas cap was visible loose. It was very noticeable. I drove it around for a day or two, CEL came back on, re-tight the gas cap. Checked under the hood for loose wires. My fuel trim readings show no sign of leaks. So far so good. I know that the gas cap is in fault because my gas gauge on my dashboard isn't losing to much fuel with the new one on as oppose to what I was loosing with the old gas cap. My question is: How many drive cycles do I have to wait before the ECU recognizing the new gas cap? Also, where is the fuel tank vacuum relief valve located in my car? (Just in case I didn't solve the problem)
Any help much appreciated!!
P0441 EVAP emission control system incorrect purge flow
The code condition you have is for the purge flow, what happens is that the PCSV get stuck in the open position allowing vacuum to enter into the fuel tank when it is not suppose to.
