P0641 Reference Voltage Incorrect

This will set off 5 code conditions, this will happen when it reference voltage is lower than expected, on the 5-volt circuit. On these circuits are 1). The throttle position 1 sensor. 2)The APP (accelerator pedal position) 2 sensor. 3) The engine cooling fan circuit 4). Fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor.  5). The engine oil pressure sensor.  6) A/C pressure sensor

This code condition can be cause just by one sensor on the 5 volts reference, you will need to measure the reference voltage by disconnecting one sensor at a time to find which sensor is causing the 5 volts to go low.

Here is GMC, the vehicle had an FTP (fuel tank pressure) sensor code being circuit low, the owner decides since this was an emission code, he would ignore it and repair it later when its emission testing is needed. Less than a month after P0641 occurred, the vehicle would not start, Since the history was originally an FTP sensor code, the FTP sensor was disconnected and the started right up.
