I have a 2002 GMC Envoy with engine code P1481, found wiring harness chewed through by a animal. traced it to harness #3563. could that cause my p1481 engine code reading?

P1481 Loss of cooling fan speed signal

What happens with this code is the wire harness to the fan where it bend it tends to get rub through and in doing so it looses its fan speed signal due to the rub through
