P0101 Chevrolet - sonic

i have a 2013 chevy sonic showing a po101 after having shown (then reset 100 miles ago) a po171.
are they related?

Yes they are , P0101 also mean its perfromance , if the air duct of the MAF has a torn the engine will take in false air, air that is unaccounted for, this would lean out the fuel to air ratio.and it would cause drivabilty problem . Check for vacuum leaks This is a MAF sensor with the air duct connecting to the MAF, on the under side was a tear that went unnoticed. It stored a DTC code for P0101 and a P0171 and because this is a L6 it stored a P0174 ( fuel trim lean Bank 2) the vehicle had a rough idle and stumbled on acceleration, the fix to replace the torn MAF airduct.
