2003 Acura CL Type S ABS SRS Warning Light

Question

I have a 2003 acura cl type s.My abs/srs light comes on somtimes after I begin to drive.When the car has been parked and the ign has been turned off it seems to reset the sys then it does not come on again until the ign has been shut off and the car begins to be driven again..Im curious to know what type off scan tool can be used to diagnose the problem. Most scan tools can be used with th cl models the cl type s oviously is a different sys.Can you shead some light on this matter. thank you very much Ray

What you have is a intermittent condition for the ABS unit. The scan tool that is used to read ABS code are scan tool that have ABS capabilty, some are Launch, There are some Snap on scan tool. What you probably have  which is prone to the Acura ABS unit, is there no brake fluid in the ABS unit, What happens is the ABS unit is so far away from the master cylinder. and if you are a careful driver the the ABS unit is never turned on. Try this . brake bleed the system and brake bleed the ABS unit. This tends to fix the problem with the Acura ABS unit. This is one of the common problem that is seen with the Acura ABS system.
