P0016 0n a 2008 pontiac G5

Question

My 2008 G5 has been running great and still does if im not at a stop light!! My engine light just came on and i checked for codes and a p0016 is showing!! as i said, the car still runs great except at a stop feels like im in a RODEO (pulsating but no stall or hard start) any ideas? not looking to just throw parts at it. thanks

Was there any recent repair done to the timing chain area, or waterpump replacement? within the last week? If not you have a cam actuator solenoid that either binded or stuck,

where is the cam actuator solenoid solenoid located and can i unstick it or do i need to replace it

i dont have anything coming through the valve cover resembling what the pictures show for connections?? is it still located under the cover or else where?? its a 2.2

The solenoid is under the valve cover , which would need to be removed , you should replace both, there is one for the intake and one for the exhaust. You cannot unstick these , just replace it and your done. this is a common wear item, just like brake pads wear out so do these.
