P0193 Fuel rail pressure sensor circuit high input

This would be for a failed FRP (Fuel rail pressure) sensor , as a rule of thimb when there is a FPR code there is no use in taking a fuel pressure test. you satisfy the FPR code first. This would not be cause by the fuel pump.

What!!!! That is what the code is for, to let you know when your fuel pump is not working properly!!!! And to let the computer control the pressure, so the pump doesn't have to work so hard all the time.

Am I the only on to have ever read this answer? Come on man. Yeah I know sensors go bad but the code is not there to let you know your sensor is bad. Sorry for the rant, but I hate sensors and I hate the fact that all mechanics want to do is change a sensor when a code pops up. And the reason I hate sensors is because 85% of the time it is the sensor that has gone bad and there is nothing wrong with the engine its self. So the mechanics are really not to blame, but first see if the pump is working fine before just changing the sensor, only to find out that it is the pump that is bad.
