P0128 Dodge -

Question

My 2012 dodge ram is flashing a thermostat rationality code will that cause the truck to lose power and just stop running and not start anymore? And before that the back revers lights stayed on and one running light and license plates ligh stayed on. Then when I would turn the lights on the licens plate lights would turn off and the other running light would come on and the other would cut off.

i would start by performing a starting and charging system test. make sure battery is holding charge and all connections are on tight. make sure alternator voltage output is within spec.

For the p0128 code you will first need to make sure all coolant levels are ok. need a scanner that can read vehicle data and vehicle needs to be cold. Plug in scanner, go to data list and  read coolant temperature sensor, start vehicle. if coolant temperature does not change after 10 minutes, replace coolant temp sensor. if it does change replace thermostat.
