P1349 BMW - I got this same code right after my service engine soon went on but i also got p0340 which is Camshaft position sensor A - bank 1 circuit malfunction. Which i dont know what that means but i saw above that one of the solutions for the misfire in cyl 4 could be faulty camshaft position sensor. Do you think that my cam sensor is causing both?

I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and it ran like a brand new bmw until 3 days ago when the light came on and im getting a hesitation most of the time. I put 500 or so miles on b4 it happened. I also just to throw it out there put regular gas in it for the first time not long b4 it happened. The guy at the gas station said it was fine but i was putting plus in b4 that

Any suggeations or thoughts would be extremely helpful and grateful.

P1349 Multiple misfire

P0340 Camshaft position sensor (CMP)

When it comes to multiple misfire the ECM will shut down the injector of that misifiring cylinder, this is done to protect the catalytic convertor, P1349 is the result of the ECM not seeing the intake camshaft sensor signal. If the CMP fails either of them the intake or the exhaust, there is rough idle especially at acceleration . what you have is a failed sensor, if the misfire  is allowed to occur long enough you can expect a failed ignition coil and this  is usually the # 4 coil or the # 5 coil that take the beating for a P1349 multiple misfire. As for the fuel you are using where the gas cap is , if there is a sticker that state the fuel type then it is a requirement if there is no sticker or notice where the fuel  fill is located, you can put in regular fuel.
