P0446 Cadillac Escalade

Question

2004 Cadillac Escalade with 45,000 miles - engine light came on and went to local repair to get code PO446. He tells me that repair is sold in a kit and would cost $800 to repair.

I would take it somewhere else, or remove some of the evap system parts and clean them out 

it is under the car, near the gas tank and the vent solenoid can get clogged up and set the engine light on 

you can remove it and clean it with compressed air to blow the dirt off and also check for broken, loose or bent hoses
