I have a C180Kompressor (W203 - M271.946) AUTO gearbox with fault 'NO SIGNAL' from crankshaft position sensor.
I replaced it by an original crankshaft sensor (MB A003 153 28 28 = BOSCH 0 261 210 170) but stil having no signal when engine runs.
The sensor has 675 Ohm but when engine is running those ohms disappear.
I connected two cables direct to the sensor to avoid contact with the ECU and is exactly the same: 675 Ohms until the starter runs, at that moment the read is zero Ohm.

Vehicle: 2003, Mercedes Benz, C180 Kompressor, 1796 cc (M271946)

This is correct the OHMS should be 700 ohms to 1400 ohms at normal operating temperature. The type of CKP is a pulse generator and it produces a AC voltage . Use the AC scale of the voltmeter if it produces the voltage it may be the DME not seeing the signal.
