Does a replacement key cause an engine to cut at 2000 revs or the vehicle to mulfunction?

No code being shown. The key was replaced. The engine check light is not showing and the engine is cutting. When I connect the Airflow sensor the engine cuts. However the engine runs well without the airflow sensor being connected.

That could mean there is a short in the wiring that is cause the car to turn off, the wiring will have to be checked.
