2006 Nissan Spec V: check engine light doesn't go out. Intermittent control panel nonillumination.

Question

Intermittently, Service Engine soon will NOT go out when starting vehicle OR it doesn't come on when starting and the control panel will not illuminate. After driving many miles, the light will go out. Does not affect driving just don't always have illumination of control panel when this happens. What could be the problem?

Hi there,

If the ses light is staying on at any point it means there is a code stored in the computer. Since it's not affecting the way the car runs, it's likely some type of emission system code. When the light is on you should have it scanned to get the code.
