I have the code P0483 on a 2002 Subaru Outback 4 Cyl. w/117k also had P0420 any suggestions?

Hi there,

P0483 is cooling fan rational. Basically you need to check and see if the car is overheating, the cooling fans are unplugged. This code normally comes up when the cooling fans can't cool the engine off. This is normally due to a bad thermostat.

P0420 is a bad catalytic converter. Most cases on these older model years you have to replace the converter to resolve the problem.
