does this fault make the car to consume more fuel?

it's not impossible for it to affect fuel economy depends on the car, P0037 is for oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 

most likely the sensor is bad, see picture below (v6) bank 1 is toward the back of the engine near the firewall and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter
