I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0L, auto, 4X4. Yesterday I was driving with the cruise control set at about 60 mph. The Jeep hiccupped, the cruise went off and the "check engine" light came on and stayed on. The Jeep ran OK, I got home and pulled the code with my reader.
The code was P0124, can you tell me why the Jeep did this?

P0124 is related to the throttle body or throttle position sensor, due to the age of the car I would say it is more than likely that it is dirty and may need to be cleaned, since carbon will build up on the throttle plate
