P1577 Ford - how much to fix

Ford Focus 1.6 tdci information centre is showing 'engine Malfunction' and 'reduced acceleration'
P1577 and P2458 and have been quoted more than £500 to fix? I have only just bought the car and I am thinking of scrapping it off? Is this a realistic cost to repair ?
