My 1992 seville will not start because the theft system is engaged. how do I disengage this?

My 1992 seville display reads " remove ignition key, starting disabled, due to theft system. How do I fix this?

are you using the remote the unlock the door? some models "disable" the security after the door is unlocked with the remote or if you key has a chip inside it will have to be reprogrammed or try a different key
