I have the engine code P0442 on my Nissan, what is the meaning of the code?

This is a generic code for a small evap leak detected. This could be the result of a bad gas cap and I have seen the O ring around the vent control valve also cause this code. The best method for locating the leak is to have the vehicle smoke tested, then look for the leak. Depending on the model and year really makes a difference on the possible leaking parts.
